QR check-in

A member holds up a QR pass and any camera logs the visit in under a second. Behind the scan, ZipTempo checks the member record, warns on duplicates, and keeps visits tied to the right plan.

Live scanner

Fast and accurate

The scanner picks up a code the moment it appears. If the same code shows up again a few minutes later, the desk gets a warning, which helps catch one pass being passed around. The line keeps moving the whole time.

  • Reads any printed or on-phone QR code
  • A repeat scan inside your chosen window gets flagged, so a shared code stands out
  • Instant visual and sound confirmation
Codes

QR inventory

Generate unique codes in batches, print them, and hand them out as people join.

  • Bulk-generate and print code sheets
  • Track which codes are free or already assigned
Unattended

Kiosk mode

Lock a tablet or phone to the scanner and the door can run while staff coach, teach, or help someone else.

  • Single-purpose, full-screen scanner
  • Exiting requires a PIN, so the device stays locked down

Try it in your own space

Free for 30 days, no card required. Most gyms and studios are live the same day.

Use cases

How gyms and studios use QR check-in

Boutique fitness

Classes run back to back and the lobby fills fast. Members scan their own code on the way in, so the instructor starts on time instead of working down a sign-in sheet.

CrossFit boxes

The whole class lands in the five minutes before the WOD. A camera scan clears that rush, and if a phone gets passed back to a friend, the desk sees a duplicate warning instead of a silent second visit.

Small independent gyms

When the owner is out on the floor, kiosk mode locks a tablet to the scanner and works the door alone. Check-in stops depending on someone standing at the desk.

Yoga & pilates studios

A quiet entrance matters before class. A silent scan checks people in without a clipboard or a queue.

FAQ

Questions we hear a lot

Do members need to install an app to check in?

No. They hold up a printed QR code or one saved in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and the camera reads it. Nothing to download.

What happens if a member scans twice?

The visit is still recorded, but it is flagged as a duplicate and the desk hears a warning sound: this member already checked in a few minutes ago. That makes a shared pass easy to catch. The repeat window is yours to set.

Can the scanner run without anyone at the desk?

Yes. Kiosk mode locks a tablet or phone to a full-screen scanner, and exiting takes a PIN. The door runs itself.

Do I need a special QR scanner or other hardware?

No. Any device camera works: the front-desk computer's webcam, a tablet, a phone. There is no barcode gun or turnstile to buy.
